The world is changing and our ability to thrive is dependent on our courage and willingness to examine how we treat ourselves, treat each other, and treat the living dynamic world of which we are a part. ARK was established in Alaska in 2010 because a small group of dedicated people believe the best way to “change the world” is by providing educational opportunities to individuals which empower them to strive for their “highest calling” (like Einstein, Tesla, King, Picasso, and many, many more). Our focus on individual achievement is how we plan to enrich the communities in which these individuals live and our “trickle up” plan to grow a stronger more resilient economy, and ultimately society.
At the core of any society is food, the energy to produce it, and the management of the resources which allow it to become a critical component of a stable economy. To address these core issues we are focusing our efforts and resources on developing capital campaigns to address the issue of food security in Alaska; community based clean energy production; and efficient resource management (especially of our wasted resources). Through these successful campaigns we believe we can best provide support for individual growth and accomplishment.
While these efforts are the primary focus of the corporate staff there are a vast array of grassroots campaigns(ongoing activities) and programs (goal specific, limited time activities) which are available for development by the local chapters. In this manner, we as an organization can focus both on addressing long-term challenges (thinking globally) while providing short-term opportunities for individuals to become engaged and achieve small victories (acting locally) which will help us win the war.
Acting with compassion and love. Using the tools of reason, knowledge, patience, and understanding our intention is to do what Martin Luther Kings Jr. suggested when he said “those who love peace must learn to effectively organize as those who love war”.
The crimes which have, and continue to happen against humanity and nature are an assault on our ability to pursue happiness and lead healthy, nurturing lives. The profit seeking, manipulative, and controlling agenda by a small few cannot be allowed to stifle innovation, freedoms, or human (and animal) rights. We do not give any power to hating what the world has become because we love the fact that by leading ourselves and leading each other (through example) we can change the world and leaving a enduring legacy for generations to come.
